Miriam Mwaibula

Miriam is a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research Specialist with 10 years of experience spanning diverse sectors such as agriculture, education, and governance & advocacy.


She is currently working at Twaweza East Africa, an organization that has established itself as one of the leading and credible research organizations in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Through our research work, we managed to generate various pieces of evidence and data through some of our flagship programs, such as "Sauti za Wananchi" – a nationally representative survey that provides real-time insights for people and policymakers on citizens’ views and experiences, and "Uraghbishi" – a community-based monitoring program that uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to demonstrate citizen agency, strengthen local government capabilities, and improve service delivery.


Throughout her years of experience in the monitoring and evaluation field, Miriam has participated in different M&E programs using various methodologies, such as Randomized Control Trials (RCT), Outcome Mapping, the Most Significant Change (MSC), and Participatory Action Research (PAR).


She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance at the Institute of Finance Management (IFM) and a Master’s degree in Research and Public Policy at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
